On November 14th, the African Coalition participated in the US Africa Institute’s African Diaspora Event with the US Department of State. The event was at Charles Drew University, and discussed important topics such as visa and immigration concerns, US foreign policy towards Africa, and diaspora engagement.
The African Coalition worked with the US Africa Institute, and interacted with Director Eric Watnik of the Department of State in order to open up discussions about the policies affecting both communities. He listened to and engaged with members of the Diaspora community, including the African Coalition, about strengthening the bonds and the policies between the US and the African communities.
The event was a significant milestone for the African Coalition, as they continued their commitment towards strengthening the communities in the African Diaspora and working with others to develop initiatives that benefit those within the community.
