World Lung Cancer Day

World Lung Cancer Day is on August 1st. This health observance began in 2012 to raise awareness about lung cancer and the need for more research to prevent this disease. According to the CDC, 80% to 90% of lung cancer deaths are linked to cigarette smoking in the United States. The most important thing to reduce the risk of lung cancer is to quit smoking.

Sharing quit programs, like services offered by Kick It California, as well as the risk factors of lung cancer is an excellent way to spread the word leading up to World Lung Cancer Day.
