African Coalition celebrates FGM’s International Day of Zero Tolerance via Webinar meeting on February 6th. FGM task force honored us in the presence of strong and well esteemed women that were brave to take a stand and present their stories regarding female mutilation at such a young age. Despite making light jabs at their prior trauma, they emphasized the importance of awareness and how to react to such stigmas brought upon their community regarding such a sensitive topic. With their experiences, the women now encourage the previous generation who are accustomed to the practice marking womanhood, to uplift women in careers and their esteem in its stead.
