As we honor Black History Month 2025, we take this opportunity to celebrate the remarkable contributions of Black communities worldwide—highlighting their rich heritage, cultural dynamism, and outstanding achievements. This year’s observance resonates deeply with the Summit’s core mission, which focuses on fostering partnerships and promoting sustainable development. Inspired by the African Union’s vision of a united and prosperous continent, we recognize the accomplishments of the African diaspora while addressing key challenges such as social inclusion and equitable access to essential services.
The African Union, established in 1963, is a membership organization composed of 55 African countries established to promote unity, development, and peace across the continent. It is key in advancing economic integration, education, and sustainable development through initiatives such as Agenda 2063, a strategic framework for Africa’s growth. By collaborating with diaspora communities and global partners, the African Union seeks to strengthen partnerships and drive transformative progress for the continent.
