Nicole Turkson is the Community Engagement Coordinator for the Keeping Our Lungs Safe (KOLS) tobacco control program. Along with the other members of the KOLS team, she diligently works to educate and empower the Black community on tobacco-related issues. Nicole is the daughter of Ghanaian immigrants who settled in South Central Los Angeles. Despite the many challenges of growing up in this community, Nicole overcame these obstacles and graduated from UCLA in 2016 with a B.S in Physiological Science. Nicole is proficient in the Akan languages Twi and Fante.
