On World Refugee Day, held every year on June 20th, African Coalition commemorate the strength, courage and perseverance of millions of refugees. Nearly 60 million people are displaced worldwide. Each day thousands more flee their homes (UNHCR) and they leave everything behind – everything except their hopes and dreams for a safer future
We always need to remember the immeasurable challenges refugees face. They leave behind their treasured possessions of various degrees. They often go without food and drink for a while. They fear whether their lives will be spared or will be over without warning. Unfortunately, the temporary predicaments they face will leave most of them with a psychological trauma that takes years to completely recover if are fortunate to receive adequate help. Therefore, awareness events are invaluable to help increase public understanding of how to provide the needed support. This year African Communities Public Health Coalition is privileged to take part of this global event. We are dedicated to raising awareness of the situation of refugees throughout the world.
The organization stands by them to provide tangible support to those around Los Angeles area.
